The Benefits of CBD for Women’s Health

CBD is changing the way that people look at holistic healthcare. The non-psychoactive plant cannabinoid, which is derived from the hemp plant, has been praised for its ability to help with the symptoms of dozens of health conditions, including anxiety, depression, migraines, and insomnia. But does CBD for women have benefits you don’t know about?

It also appears that CBD can alleviate issues that are unique to a woman’s body, including PMS, hormonal imbalance, and cramps. If you’ve been on the fence about whether or not CBD is as good as everyone is making it out to be, then get ready to find out how CBD can benefit women of all ages!

CBD Can Help With PMS Symptoms

For most women, Premenstrual Syndrome, or PMS, is nothing to laugh about. When Aunt Flo comes knocking on the door, she always shows up with some extra friends on her visit – cramps, bloating, breast tenderness, fatigue, cravings, and mood swings are her favorites, but constipation and anxiety may show up from time to time, too.

PMS can occur before or during your period, and most women will agree that it’s not very fun. Thankfully, CBD can help you make peace with Aunt Flo on her monthly visits. Here’s how it works:

– CBD interacts with receptor’s the brain’s limbic system, improving mood and overall mental health.

– CBD inhibits the output cortisol, the stress hormone, so that we don’t feel stressed-out and anxious

– CBD improves digestive function by helping to regulate bowel movements, which can results in less gas, bloating, and cramping

CBD Can Help Manage Hormonal Imbalances

Hormones are chemical messengers in the body that regulate vital biological functions, including growth, metabolism, and reproduction. Although hormonal fluctuations usually occur during puberty, periomenopause, and menopause, toxins and lifestyle can lead to an imbalance at any point during a woman’s life.

Too much or too little of a particular hormone can lead to symptoms like weight gain, mood swings, and hair loss, and although pharmaceuticals have been used to treat hormonal imbalances in the past, CBD is showing promise as an alternative to the status quo.

In one study, researchers found that CBD can help regulate the secretion of cortisol, more commonly known as the “stress hormone.” This is great news, because it shows that CBD could be used as a preventative measure against hormonal imbalance.

CBD Can Help With Cholesterol Levels

Although we’re always hearing bad things about cholesterol, we actually can’t live without it. Cholesterol is a fatty lipid that is found in every single cell in the body, and it’s particularly abundant in the cell membrane, where maintains the integrity of the cell. In simpler terms, it lets the good stuff in while keeping the riff raff out.

Although our livers make all the cholesterol we need to function, other sources of cholesterol come from our diet. And as you already know, excess cholesterol can lead to heart disease, which is the leading cause of death for women around the world.

We have two types of cholesterol, but, it’s really the “bad” low-density, or LDL, cholesterol that we should be concerned with. Although prescription drugs can help reduce cholesterol levels, they come with a whole host of nasty side effects. Thankfully, CBD has none of those side effects, and 2011 study (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21533611) showed that can play a role in managing the levels of LDL cholesterol in the body. Although no one should be ditching their cholesterol medications without consulting their doctor, CBD shows promise and could possibly help reduce the amount of medications you need.

CBD Promotes Healthy Digestive Function

Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS, is one of the most common digestive complaints that women have. It’s characterized by constipation, bloating, and extreme abdominal pain, but it’s only one of many digestive issues that plague women.

So, how exactly can CBD help?

Well, one recent study showed that CBD helps regulate digestion and stimulate bowel movements, with the end result being improved digestive function. Numerous other studies have shown that CBD can also help with the symptoms of digestive distress, such as nausea, bloating, and inflammation. Conclusion? CBD can help women everywhere have a happy belly once and for all!

CBD For General Health

Although taking CBD can help correct some of the unhealthy choices we’ve made in the past, it won’t fix any of your problems if you continue to follow the same unhealthy lifestyle habits. If I take a max potency CBD supplement in the hopes of improving my cholesterol levels, it won’t work in the long run if I continue to eat junk food.

If you’re interested in taking CBD to improve your health, then making better lifestyle choices almost mandatory. It’s also mandatory that you do your research, because not all CBD is created equal. While CBD has many positive health benefits for women, those problems aren’t going to magically go away if you’re putting chemical toxins into your body.

Brands like Medterra and Green Road are reputable and well-known in the industry, but even up-and-comers like Bliss Herbal are a good choice, particularly because they source their hemp from organically grown plants.

Just remember, CBD is a tool that can help restore our bodies and hormones back to a natural state of balance. But, it’s up to you to maintain your health by making the right choices when it comes to your health.
